After scaling up our G&T Gose recipe to a higher gravity and increasing the additions of botanicals, we aged it for three months in third-use barrels that once housed our Bourbon Barrel Stout. The resulting beer is truly unique and complex: the deeply charred barrels impart a notable “bourbonesque” hue to its appearance, while hints of vanilla and oak give balance to the botanicals leading to a soft bourbon flavor up front and a juniper-like finish.
